Erin Tanis acquired a degree in Finance and Human Resources from Grand Valley State University. After graduating, Erin gained 12 years of experience in the title industry where she managed residential and commercial transactions, then eventually changing her direction to analyzing the finances of the joint venture branch of the company. After 12 years of experience and having her fifth child, Erin made the decision that it was time for a change. Lucas approached Erin about an opportunity at Viking Construction Group, knowing her knowledge and skills would align with the support they needed for their growing company. After much thought and prayer, she was thrilled to join Viking Construction Group in November of 2017. Erin resides in Jamestown, MI with her five children.

Josh Ulberg developed a passion for the building trades at a young age. Growing up in the building industry, Josh loved to help his father on jobsites and that love grew into a very clear vision that the construction industry was the career path for him. After graduating from Ferris State University with a Building Construction Technology degree, he went into the residential construction field full time. From 2000 to 2007, Josh worked with his father and brother building new homes and fabricating custom cabinetry. In 2007, Josh began his sole venture as Josh Ulberg Builders, LLC. At this time Josh’s passion became a healthy obsession for developing a superior custom home tied with creating personal client relationship that would last a lifetime. With this mindset, Josh was able to accumulate many successful projects into his portfolio and customer loyalty relationships that brought him repeat business. Knowing that God is always in control, he had another plan for Josh. So, with much prayer, and now thankfulness, Josh and Lucas merged their talents to form Viking Construction Group in 2017. Josh resides in Jenison, MI with his wife, Kimberly, and three children.

Lucas Ulberg was drawn into the field of architecture and construction at a very young age. From building little projects with his father’s left-over scrap materials to hand sketching houses sitting at the dining table, his passion for architecture and building is attributed to being surrounded by construction his entire life. Prior to starting Viking Construction Group, both Lucas and Josh worked together with their father building homes and custom cabinetry. From 2007 to 2016, Lucas worked as a Project Manager and Manager of Property Development for a large-scale commercial construction firm, as well as a hotel development company. He has managed many projects ranging from Interior Build-Outs, Food Service, Office, Industrial Facilities, Restaurants, and Hotels. After much thought and prayer, both Lucas and Josh decided it was time to merge their experience and talents and formed Viking Construction Group in 2017. Lucas holds a degree in Architectural Drafting/Construction Management. He currently resides in Zeeland, MI with his wife, Tara, and four amazing children.
